Description
A chequerboard border, a pattern found on Harappan pots and game boards.
Drawn from the Indus Valley (Sindhu) civilisation of about 2600 to 1900 BCE, whose potters painted pipal leaves, fish scales, chequers and intersecting circles on their jars. We redraw those motifs as bold layers that still read clearly from across a room. Wide and low, the classic shape for the centre of a flat door.
